OpenMobility IP
Cordless voice and data transfer in IP-based networks
The combination and integration of DECT and WLAN wireless technologies for cordless voice and data transfer in an IP-based network provide convenient mobility. Now only a single common infrastructure is required for voice and data transfer.
The convergence of voice and data and their use in a single infrastructure, together with the operation of a common network, have changed the telecommunications market forever. The Internet Protocol (IP) has become the standard for voice transfer.
OpenMobility IP does away with the disadvantage of lack of mobility that characterised previous VoIP networks: the combination of DECTnetIP and WLAN results in mobile convenience for convergent voice and data transfer in IP-based networks.
At CeBIT in 2003, DeTeWe was the first manufacturer in the world to present the complete integration of DECT in an IP infrastructure. In this case, the DECT radio fixed parts are integrated into the IP environment in the same way as VoIP equipment. This solution retains all the advantages of DECT, in particular with regard to voice quality and transmission. In order to provide complete mobility, DeTeWe has combined the advantages of DECT and WLAN technology. The result is a comprehensive solution for both cordless voice and mobile data applications. DECT RFPs with integrated WLAN access points are available for cordless data transfer by means of WLAN technology, which is becoming increasingly dominant.
